How do you learn to use ActiveWidgets?

Whilst investigating grid solutions for a new UI, I stumbled across ActiveWidgets and have been looking at it in detail, with a view to purchasing a site licence.

Despite being impressed with ActiveWidgets, the process of learning its functional scope and how to use it is far from simple. I need to find a quick way of comparing our list of requirements with ActiveWidgets' capabilities to determine the shortfall. I also need to find a better way to educate myself and others in how to use it.

The only documentation I can find is that which appears in the tree structure on these pages. I've also downloaded the latest beta and looked through the examples. Is there anything else available?

To assess the effort to extend ActiveWidgets, I'm also trying to get a clear picture of the "class structure". Can anyone suggest a route through the maze?

Any help would be gratefully received.

Mike.

The docs are currently slim, with no dates on full documentation deployment. So it's basically a trial and error development for most of us. orry I can't say any more.

I posted a quick tutorial on creating your own controls last month. Do a search for "myTestControl" and read my post. This should help you out in your evaluation.

Thanks Tony - I wanted to be sure there was nothing lurking that would help.

Jim, the TestControl example is very helpful, thank you for posting it. I'll try to extend AW.Grid.Extended and add a method or two. If I'm successful, I'll post the code.
