License question

Is it okay if I extend the functionality of ActiveWidgets? I like to add few more data formatting objects that would suite my needs, and possibly expand some functionality of other objects, and I just want to make sure that I am not violating any copyright.

Yes, the license allows to modify the source code and extend the functionality of the library. Just keep your code in separate files (not mixing with original AW code) to avoid confusion who owns what.

Sure, I was gonna do the same. Do I need to submit my code extensions to ActiveWidgets?

Kris,

You do not need to submit your extensions, but it would be nice to share your controls if you feel the need to. Many of us have posted things that we have written so that others can benefit from them. But if you purchase a license you have the absolute right to use it and never contribute to the community. There are things that I have written for my company that are being used in a government application and they have expressed that I do not distribute the code, so I don't. But I have posted other things that I wrote that was not affiliated with that project. So it's all up to you as to if you will contribute or not. Enjoy the framework!

Just want to confirm - you are NOT required to share or publish your code, but if you do, that would be very nice.

(we are talking here about AW 2.0 and 1.0 commercial license)

Sure, I will definitly publish whatever I write. I have no problem with that. I am just beginner with html/css/javascript, so I don't want to embarrass myself ;)
