Grid object error/attachEvent problem - solved

I have notice several posts pertaining to an occasional problem that prevents the grid from displaying, and causes a "object does not support this property or method..." javascript error during the attachEvents loop in aw.js, I myself have seen this problem on the occasional browser, it seems to happen when certain security packages, firewall/virus, etc, are installed on the machine in question thus seeming to disable the attachEvent properties of the machine's browser, I uninstalled the package on just such a machine after months of frustration and volila...the grid appeared no problem. Now the problem is that these machines have to be left unprotected, or the user will have to find a different security package.

Would be great if you can give the instructions how to reproduce this (what this package is?).

The package that I know causes this is called "Freedom", not sure who the vendor is, it has firewall/virus/spyware/popup protection. Simply disabling it did not fix the problem, it had to be uninstalled, and I am not sure which if its components is the issue. I am not sure if there are other packages causing similar problems. Why they chose to disable attachEvent is beyond me, is this considered a security risk?
