header text alignment always allows room for sort icon

I'm using center alignment for a column header:

.aw-column-2 {text-align: center;}

In AW 2.0, the alignment always allows room for the sort arrow, even when the column is not selected as the sort columnn. So the text appears aligned slightly to the left of center. This is different than the 1.0 behavior, which only allowed space for the sort arrow when the column was selected as the sort column. Is there a workaround for this?
