capture ellipsis

Hello

Is there any way to capture when the browser toggles an element to ellipsis??
Or even better if a cell is toggled to ellipsis.

The reason why i ask is because i want to show tooltip only on cells that are toggled to (blabla...) ....

I don't think there is any kind of event related to this. However you can approach it from the opposite side - use mouseover event to get the cell under the mouse, check if there is content overflow condition, and set the title attribute if necessary. Because the tooltip appears after some delay you have enough time to decide whether you need it or not...

And how can i check if there is content overflow condition...?
