Help needed

I have an SDk which includes number of html pages located at my local disk.I want to search a string from all these locally placed HTML page
contents and want to display the results in another HTML page. These
HTML pages are placed in 3 different folder. The output should display
the name of file and line containing the string (just like google
search). We cannot use ASP/ActiveX as it a stand alone bunch of HTML files.
Is it possible using javascript or I need to use some other technology?
Please suggest something.
