Safari, Opera and Konqueror support
-----------------------------------

This is the first ActiveWidgets release which works on all major browsers. It will fully support Safari 3.0 and Opera 9.0 and most features will also work on Safari 2.0 and Konqueror 3.5. That would make the browser support list as -

* IE 5.5, 6.0, 7.0
* Firefox 1.0, 1.5, 2.0
* Safari 2.0, 3.0
* Opera 9.0
* Konqueror 3.5

The goal is fully support Safari 3.0 and Opera 9.0 while doing as much as possible on Safari 2.0 and Konqueror. Some features cannot be implemented on Safari 2.0 (XML data source, input box styling) and Konqueror (XML data source).

Much faster grid - new 'virtual scrolling' implementation
-------------------------------------------

This release includes new implementation of editing and virtual scrolling modules. The editing code is now much more simple and more reliable (and is now compatible with faster AW.Templates.Cell template).

The virtual scrolling code is completely new and now includes incremental rendering of both columns and rows. That makes huge difference for the grids with the large number of columns (50-100) - the performance could be as much as 5x better in this scenario for initial rendering and also for scroll/resize/navigation performance.

The grid now uses AW.Templates.Cell class for the default cell template, so in most scenarios there should be 2x-3x better performance compared with AW 2.0.

New vista and system themes
-------------------------------------------

The AW 2.5 adds two new visual themes – 'vista' and 'system'. The 'system' theme combines vista, xp, aqua and classic themes into one package so that the theme appearance matches the current user operating system.

Copy/Paste
-------------------------------------------

The grid now supports clipboard copy/paste - copy selected cells/rows with Ctrl-C and paste into another application (Excel, Word etc.)

Other new features in AW 2.5 -

* support for text indices, i.e. [{price: 123.00, qty: 50; total:...},{...}]
* deferred grid initialization, does not block rest of the page
* improved navigation API - selectCell(), selectRow() etc.
