Combo Box text truncation

I recently noticed that the combo box I am using from AW will truncate text in the drop-down list and ad ... to the end of the string, but not in the control itself which displays the currently selected element.

Can anyone verify this or does anyone have any thoughts about this.

This is achieved with CSS rule text-overflow:ellipsis, which does not work inside the <input> element.
