Fixed Width Column and Variable Row Height?

Does the widget allow you to set the width of a column so that when you have a set field like amount that will never have more than 7 numbers will always remain static width; while another field like Company Name might have 255 characters that you would want to to have a variable row height set based on the length of a specific field. Is this possible?
