Format XML output based on column value

I have a column that returns either a true (1) or a false (0). If it is 1, I want to be able to specify that the column output an X and if it is 0, to not output anything. Any suggestions on how I might accomplish this?

On a similar note, I'd like to apply BITAND against one of the columns and then output either an X or a blank based on the result. Once I get my head around the column formatting, I should be able to figure this out, but so far, I've just been banging my head against the wall.
