Fails to load using Safari broswer

That's correct, the library breaks under Safari/Konqueror. When I enabled the debugger, I got this:

Safari, Konqueror or Opera are not supported. The grid library only works in IE on Windows (5.5+) or FireFox/Mozilla/Netscape (Gecko 1.4+) on all platforms (including Mac).

Do you intend to add support for Safari? If not, the control is limited in its usability on a public web site.
