Change cell data with CSV data model

I have read many entrys that describe how to change a cell's data with the
JS array data model, but I cannot figure out how to do the same for either
the CSV file or XML data models. I want to update individual cells so that
the repaint will be minimaly noticeable. I will probably bring in the new data
by doing an iframe pull and checking for new data.
