Code samples in postings

Can someone let me into the secret of those neat yellow boxes which are used to contain code samples in the postings. Everytime I post code samples they look like crap ...

You use the 'hash' button on the left of the post textarea (the button below bold, italic, underline buttons) to wrap around what you want to post as code.
